1) Make it for Lucca. Once you are in town take the road around the city walls until you see the sign for Road N.12 'Abetone'.

2) Follow the road for approx 5 kms, turn right when you see the sign to 'MATRAIA' and 'Villa Reale'.

3) Once you arrive at the Villa Reale's gates bear left and then right, always following the 'Matraia' signs.

4) After approx 3 kms turn right when you see the sign 'COLLE VERDE', and follow the dirt road for 1km.
